Ever found a pebble that looks like a cow (or is it a dog)?
Maybe a piece of driftwood that bears an uncanny resemblance to a crouching tiger or leaping dragoon?
Perhaps you have seen Brittany Spears in the bottom of your tea cup or sailed to an island shaped like an anchor.
I am collecting together pictures of things which look like things for this website.
A technical term for this is pareidolia which, according to Wikipedia, is "a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random stimulus (usually an image) being mistakenly perceived as recognizable".
My term for it is wow! which, according to Wikipedia, is "an interjection used to express surprise".
Cow pebble
This is the pebble that I found on the beach in my home town, Brighton on England's Sussex coast, which started me thinking about lookalike objects.
I first thought of it as a cow, though sometimes it looks to me more like a dog.
I have shown you mine, I would love to see yours.
I design websites for artists like this one for epilepsy charity the Arthouse.
